It was Leila’s 3rd Birthday on Sunday but her birthday celebrations started on Friday at nursery.
Leila wanted a Frozen, Elsa, cake for all of her friends in her class, toddlers two. On Thursday night we decorated a sponge cake (made by my mum, Granny Vanda). Leila and I have clocked up many hours playing with playdoh, but that wasn’t going to help me with this one. It was a lot more difficult than I thought!
It was lots of fun decorating her cake, she just loves playing, baking and cooking together.
On Friday morning she was proud as punch taking her cake into school. At least, for me, all the toddlers knew it was meant to be Elsa, but the most exciting bit was that the cake had jam inside.
We had Leila’s birthday party in Portballintrae on Saturday. It started off with a birthday baby-chino in Babushka, followed by a bbq and fun on the beach with her cousins.
The main birthday party, again, was all about her Frozen cake. This time it was made by Laura Henning from Hey Cupcake! based in Newry. Laura saw my Facebook post with a photo of my first attempt at making Elsa. She kindly offered her fabulous cake decorating skills and made Leila the most stunning red velvet birthday cake for Leila.
I cannot recommend Laura, or Hey Cupcake! enough.
