What I use

| 26 November 2015

Lately, I have received a number of lovely comments about my skin, from people asking what is my secret and what products do I use for my very pale skin. 10 months ago, my skin started to change after the birth of Luke. I began to get painful red lumps under my skin that I couldn’t control. Almost 11 months later, my skin is 80% clear, although I still seem to have a breakout once every 6-8 weeks. It may be down to exhaustion and a bad diet, as it tends to happen when parenting is getting on top of me.

I am extremely lucky to get help from Skin Medi Spa on the Lisburn Road. Judith Mulgrew suggested, that I should have a few treatments using Dermica Pen. I really cannot recomdend this treatment enough.

I can honestly assure you that it is totally pain free, even though needles are being used to stimulate the skin. I am not great with needles and I don’t think it feels any worse than a gentle exfoliation. The Dermica Pen helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring and enlarged pores.

The Dermic pen treatment has played an important role in helping me get control of my skin, I am now almost acne free and feeling much more confident about my skin. Prices start at £150 for face and £180 for face and neck. Please book here

Essential Products

As many of you know, I do not wear any makeup unless I am modelling. My skin is extremely sensitive staying makeup free, as much as possible, has always helped to keep my skin clear. When I do wear make up, I spend a little more time prepping my skin before I apply any makeup products.

Here are a few of my “Must have” essentials to help to brighten tired and dull skin, especially at this time of the year.

Organic Elixir Age Defying Facial Oil £30 Buy here

This is my favourite beauty product of all. It is full of antioxidants and essential amino acids. I have extremely dry skin and one secret I do have is to use this before applying my makeup, to give my skin an extra glow. I feel that this makes my skin noticeably smoother and brighter. Only a few drops are needed and a bottle seems to last forever. I apply the Organic Elixir to my skin every night.

Arbonne Makeup Primer £27

I always use this under my foundation. I find it extremely silky and smooth when applied to the skin. It gives my skin a dewy glow. You only need a pea sized amount. It isn’t greasy and gives a nice and even complexion. I was only introduced to Arbonne lately and now I cannot apply foundation without it.

Jane Iredale Hydration Spray £20

Thank you to Judith at Skin Medi Spa once again. She kindly gave me this product to try. Not only is the smell amazing, it is refreshing and an instant ‘pick me up’.  I spray it just before I apply my foundation. It is a powerful antioxidant and UV protector. I also use it to set my base and to wet brushes when making eye liners.

LOreal Paris True Match Ivory £9.99

I have tried many products but LOreal Paris True Match seems to be the only one I keep coming back too. It doesn’t dry out my skin the way other foundations would. I love the reasonable price and it lasts along time. It provides great coverage and I rarely have to use a concealer with this product.
